Utilities Team Lead

Responsibilities:
-Knowledge of all auxiliary and ancillary equipment in all phases of operation.
-Schedule training as required for crew members assigned to the power plant.
- Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Compressed Gas Regulations under the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Safety Act are met.
-During the construction and commissioning phases, assist in the preparation of relevant operating procedures for the power plant, compressors and related utilities and services.
-Supervise the plant to ensure a reliable supply of steam, compressed air and other utilities while maintaining maximum safety and efficiency.
-Gain in depth knowledge of all plant control systems and their interconnections to ensure a timely response in upset situations.
-Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance activities required to keep the boilers, compressors, instrumentation and related equipment operating at maximum efficiency.
-Practice emergency response procedures for situations when it may be necessary to shutdown/start-up the plant. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining heat to the core areas of the refining process during such situations.

Requirements:
-Canadian Post secondary education within a related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience, including demonstrated supervisory experience.
-First or Second Class Power Engineer License issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
-Knowledge of the Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Compressed Gas Regulations under the Newfoundland and Labrador Public Safety Act
